Winters

Winters out to get me
raise your glasses high
ill go right down if you let me,
summers on my mind

The meter cant go lower
and the storm howls in the night
my head cant work any slower,
if it does ill die

I long for summer
Raise your glasses high
I go right down if you let me
summers on my mind

Buy me a seat in an airplane
then ill wave you goodbye,
goodbye winter, nasty rain,
summers on my mind

I cant afford a ticket
to go wont loose the ties
and the slowly spin I’m into,
summers on my mind

Into the olympic bar
there is laugh and there is cheer
while they’re watching the funnyfarm
they’ve raised ’round here
and on the counter money lies in a stack
milkstains on the notes,
one of them keeps track.
Will not let me be,
raised a bet on me

Winters out to get me
raise your glasses high
ill go right down if you let me
summers on my mind
